Volunteering
Volunteering is a great way of starting to feel some ownership of the festival. It helps you get to know people and to feel at home. At the same time, your service helps the festival flow and for the work to not just be a burden on a few people - but instead be a joy for many. Keeping our shared spaces clean and tidy is an ongoing effort. We also need the fire to be started and looked after each day, childen to be amused and the kitchen and dishes looked after. Contact Rachel directly if you would like to offer any kind of service to the festival by emailing [email protected]
If you live in Dunedin, there may well be festival "stuff' that you could transport up to Waimate.
Being right on the edges of Canterbury and Otago means we have a large geographic area to cover in terms of letting people know the festival exists and is on. Prior to the festival, if you have some spare time and would like to help spread the word of the festival by distributing posters, helping out online or communicating with local media, get in touch and we can see how you can help.
We are a small festival run entirely by volunteers, so please help out whenever you see a need, whether it’s moving chairs in the main hall, getting wood for the fire, or finding a crying child’s parent. Do what you can to put rubbish in the correct bin, keep the kitchen tidy and not be too rowdy late at night etc
If you would like a more direct involvement, in helping with the running of the festival, every year we have a number of roles to fill. Please do not hesitate to contact our friendly Festival Director, Rachel Bayliss directly, or to fill in our contact form in the navigation bar.
